The student will acquire knowledge and skills related to the world of work and design process. The fashion show process incorporates the knowledge and skills from three of the core programme modules: creative design, pattern design and garment construction. The acquired knowledge and skills are relevant to the role of a fashion practitioner in the professional world. Students are required to design an individual range based on a specific design theme, taking into consideration trend related elements such as shape, details and proportion. The selected trend needs to align to the design theme identified. Students must achieve at least 75% to qualify for this curriculum embedded STADIO Stripe.

- Conducting research within a specific context related to key fashion themes.
- Conducting end user/customer/ target market research.
- Compile a comprehensive profile based on demographic, psychographic and behavioural information.
- Presenting and effective communication of research findings.
- Converting research into a series of designs
- Considering fabric properties and characteristics in the design.
- Produce the patterns, mock ups and the final constructed garments for their planned individual range.
- Faciliate the technical drawing analysis, working patterns and finished patterns of their range.
- Analyse and evaluate shape, fit and proportion outcomes for a successful design outcome.
- Developing and understanding an order of construction.
- Understand seam finishes and recognise the influence of finishes of the garment’s aesthetic appeal.
- Understand various fabric weights and characteristics and apply accurate finishes and techniques during the production phase.
