Design an ensemble for a fashion show production

The student will acquire knowledge and skills related to the world of work and design process. The fashion show process incorporates the knowledge and skills from three of the core programme modules: creative design, pattern design and garment construction. They are required to design an ensemble, using a specific theme, creating a cohesive piece influenced by key design principles and elements. Students must achieve at least 75% to qualify for this curriculum embedded STADIO Stripe.

Skills / Knowledge

  • Comprehensive understanding of the fashion design and production process.
  • Creating technical drawings.
  • Grasp shape analysis through the pattern development and the mock up process, analysing proportion silhouette and fit.
  • Working in 2D and 3D formats.
  • Comprehend fabric weights and properties and how these factors influence silhouette, proportions and shape of garments.
  • Creation of garments including the order of construction, seam finishes, and the influence of these finishes on the garment’s aesthetic appeal.
  • Holistic understanding of creative design, pattern design and garment construction.
