Design a garment for a fashion show production

The fashion show process incorporates the knowledge and skills from three of the core programme modules: creative design, pattern design and garment construction. Students are required to design a specific apparel item, such as a skirt, using a designated trend, while applying their foundational understanding of the three core modules in the development of the garment form design to final construction. Students must achieve at least 70% to qualify for this curriculum embedded STADIO Stripe.

  • Apply design knowledge and skills in a series of garment designs.
  • Create a technical drawing.
  • Translate a design into production through pattern design.
  • Apply their foundational pattern knowledge.
  • Identify pattern principles and methods applicable to Individual garment designs.
  • Understanding of shape analysis through the pattern development and the mock up process, analysing proportion silhouette and fit.
  • Working in 2D and 3D formats.
  • Creation of garments including the order of construction, seam finishes, and the influence of these finishes on the garment’s aesthetic appeal.
  • Apply foundational level sewing methods.
  • Holistic understanding of creative design, pattern design and garment construction.
